Gov. Obiano of Anambra Appoints the Youngest Commissioner in Nigeria
Anambra state Governor, Willie Obiano has sworn in 30-year-old Mark Okoye as the state’s commissioner for Economic Planing and Budget Development making him Nigeria’s youngest commissioner.
Mark Okoye II, flanked by his wife, was today sworn in as the Honourable Commissioner for
Economic Planning and Budget Development at
the Executive Council Chamber of Anambra
State.
Mark is one of the numerous youth who make up over 55% of the political appointments made by the Gov. Willie Obiano led Administration.
He was confirmed by the Anambra state House
of Assembly on Wednesday.
Mark studied Finance at George Washington University and was a former Associate at Afrinvest West Africa. He was a former Executive Director, Anambra State Investment Promotion & Protection Agency and was also the Special Adviser to the Governor on Economic Planning and Budget.
Governor Obiano in a tweet said that if not for
constitutional restraints, the state would have 24-
year-old commissioners.
