Fidson to reward brilliant scholars

the management of Fidson Healthcare Plc., has said it will continue to support outstanding pupils in public and private schools and motivate them to aim higher in their
academic pursuit.
The General Manager, FHP, Mr. Ola Ijimakin, said this while announcing the 2016 edition of  the Astymin Brilliance Reward, in Lagos.
According to him, the programme which began in 2010, was aimed at improving pupils’ academic performance through special provision of educational materials.
He added that more than 200 private and public schools across the south-west and south-east, as well as other  stakeholders, would converge for the event in July.
“Like we have always emphasised, the ABR is our attempt to bring back the glorious days of our education by throwing our weight behind the children’s drive for academic excellence. This is another season of delight for pupils who have worked so hard in their academics. For us as a brand, it is another day of celebrating excellence”, he said.
Ijimakin also expressed worry over the dwindling reading culture among youths.
He said the ABR would help to tame the passion for fast money, fame and interests in social or political affluence, for which academic excellence has been traded.
“We believe it is better to catch them young and put them on the right path to success. Therefore, we will continue to take the giant stride in rewarding brilliant primary school kids in a way that will motivate them to stay focused on their studies, believing that merit and hard work can still be rewarded”, he said.
