Germany beat Italy in a major finals for the first time to book a place in the semi-finals of Euro 2016 after a nervy 6-5 penalty shootout win in Bordeaux.
Left-back Jonas Hector hit the winning kick after Mesut Ozil, Thomas Muller and Bastian Schweinsteiger had all missed.
Germany had not missed a single penalty in a shootout since 1982.
They will now play either hosts France or Iceland in Marseille next Thursday
